A brief example of different kinds of Essay

On the way to study abroad, we all understand that writing Essay is a very challenging task, which requires not only solid knowledge and rich experience, but also the ability to express ourselves in writing. However, if we can fully understand and master different kinds of Essay, we can better cope with these challenges. Next, I will briefly introduce five common types of Essay – Descriptive Essay, Comparative and Contrastive Essay, Analytical Essay, Narrative Essay, and Argumentative/Persuasive Essay, which I hope will be helpful to you.

I. Descriptive Essay

This type of Essay is easier and usually appears in writing classes, focusing on portraying a person, place, object or idea through vivid strokes. In the writing process, you need to pay attention to the choice of wording and expression to ensure that the narrative structure is clear and the narrative is flexible.

Compare and Contrast Essay

This type of Essay is not considered a formal academic paper, but in the writing process, the same need to pay attention to the structure of the article and the logic of the argument. In the process of comparison, you need to clarify the content and angle of comparison, in-depth demonstration of the differences between the elements, but also pay attention to find potential similarities.

Analytical Essay

V. Argumentative/Persuasive Essay

The goal of this type of Essay is to prove one’s point of view and persuade the reader or teacher through reliable research materials. During the writing process, you need to express a clear opinion on the topic to be discussed, thoroughly research all aspects of it, apply sufficient argumentative evidence to prove the correctness of the point of view, and refute opposing views.

Overall, mastering the right way of writing is very important for all types of Essay. In practice, we need to consider a variety of factors such as the object of depiction, contrasting perspectives, means of analysis, narrative techniques, and argumentative skills to achieve the best results.
