How to Write an Engaging ThesisResults – A Practical Approach

Recently, we have been receiving frequent enquiries from students about how to write the Results results section of their thesis, and sadly, many are still confused about this very challenging aspect of the field. However, the results of the study are often the core of the entire academic paper. Written well, it not only provides a solid foundation for the discussion section that follows, helping readers to understand and evaluate it, but it also leads to greater impact and excellent results for the author. Here are some lessons I have learnt from my teaching experience that I hope will inspire you.

Clear structure: Arrange the research results in a logical order to ensure that the article is organised.
Use of data and graphs: Use tables and graphs to express the results in a visual way and improve the readability of the article.
Language requirements: Use clear and concise expressions to highlight the subject matter and make the style of writing clear and easy to interpret.
Highlighting important findings: emphasise the core findings to make them stand out to the reader, highlighting their significance and implications.
Statistical analyses: Provide statistical methods and corresponding evaluation indexes, so that readers can verify your research results by themselves.
Explanation of findings: Discuss in depth the rationale and possible explanations for the findings, and compare and contrast them with the existing literature.
Reflecting on the findings: talk honestly and objectively about the limitations, prerequisites, etc. of the findings, avoiding self-glorification and ensuring scientific rigour.

In short, the findings section needs to be taken seriously and completed with great care. A well-thought-out, well-described and in-depth presentation of your results will definitely increase the value and quality of your research. So, guys, go for it!
