Reference check details are crucial

Although the reference is small, it is an important criterion for judging the quality of the article, and it directly affects the academic reputation. Moreover, the requirements for references in foreign countries are very strict. If the format is incorrect or written blindly, it is easy to be found guilty of plagiarism!

1. No italic: If you are a hand-typist who makes references by hand, you must remember to check the italicized part of the citation after copying and pasting. All the book titles of References need to be italicized, and the names of journals and magazines also need to be italicized. If you do not italicize, you will lose points.

2. Missing issue/volume: Many citations given by Google Scholar will miss issue/volume. Be sure to check and complete them.

3. Wrong indent: This is still a problem with hand-typing the reference. If you also use APA format, remember to adjust the indentation to 1.27cm.

4. Disorganize and reorganize other people’s opinions: Never do this, you will be charged with academic plagiarism!

5. Excessive citation: I found that many students studying abroad cite documents crazily in order to make up the number of words. Sometimes they also cite documents that are not highly related to the topic. This will only make the instructor think that you are not thinking and are purely quoting to hand in homework. The purpose of this is to show which scholar your academic viewpoint comes from, and it must correspond to your core ideas and viewpoints to reflect your professionalism.
