Step 1: Determine the research topic and communicate with your supervisor
First of all, we must define our research interests and choose a research topic that is innovative and feasible. In this step, we can have an in-depth discussion with our supervisors in order to better understand their views and suggestions on our chosen topic. By communicating with our supervisors, we will get valuable feedback to further improve our chosen topic.
Step 2: Writing the research proposal and ethical statement
Next, we need to start writing a research proposal and ethical statement based on our selected research topic. During the writing process, we need to make sure that the content is clear and logical, as well as paying attention to the accuracy and standardisation of language expression. After writing the first draft, we have to meet with our supervisors in time to listen to their feedback on the research proposal and ethical statement.
Step 3: Write the theoretical framework and methodology
After getting the approval from our mentor, we can start writing the theoretical framework and methodology section as required in the research proposal. In this step, we need to make full use of what we have learned, analyse relevant literature in depth, construct a scientific and reasonable theoretical framework, and design a practical research method.
Step 4: Data collection, analysis and presentation of results
After the theoretical framework and methodology are written, we can enter the stage of data collection, analysis and presentation of results. In this stage, we need to strictly follow the ethical guidelines to ensure that the data sources are legal and reliable, and use appropriate statistical methods to process and analyse the data. After completing the data analysis, we need to write the appropriate result chapters and explain them in relation to the theoretical framework.
Step 5: Write Abstract, Introduction and Conclusion
After completing the above sections of work, we can start writing the abstract, introduction and conclusion sections. When writing the abstract, we need to succinctly and clearly summarise the research objectives, methods, results and conclusions; when writing the introduction, we need to elaborate the background, significance and purpose of the study and briefly introduce the research questions, hypotheses and methods, etc.; when writing the conclusion, we need to summarise the research results, put forward the research revelation or look forward to the future research direction.
Step 6: Overall Formatting and Submission of the Paper
After all the chapters are written, we also need to make overall formatting adjustments to the whole thesis, including font, paragraph, chart numbering and other details. After confirming that the format is correct, we can formally submit the thesis. Please keep in mind that the quality of the thesis has a direct impact on whether we can graduate successfully, so we must take every step seriously to ensure the high quality of the thesis.
