After you have a general topic, research your topic extensively and write down all the important points that you may use.
Here you will have to read some peer reviewed articles, journals articles, see what others have said about this topic and what they have researched.
Write your thesis based on your research, that is, what is the goal of this paper?
the goal of this paper is to…
The point is that you must give your essay a purpose and a position.
For example, criticise the findings of other authors, compare and contrast two ideas, explore a new phenomenon.
Then explain why your thesis is important and why you need to discuss the topic so what?
Supporting points for your thesis are your body paragraphs.
The point here is to back up your argument with evidence!
You can’t just write evidence and move on.
Be sure to explain your evidence, why it’s worth mentioning, how it connects to your thesis, and how it supports your main argument.
I used to write intro and conclusion at the end, intro can be background info, definitions, and thesis at the end of intro.
The conclusion should restate the thesis&its significance.
Finally, according to your topic, you can give some future recommendations.
Find a professor or TA to talk about your ideas! After you have a thesis/draft, go to a professor/TA and let them give you some suggestions to see if your direction is right, so you can really improve your score!
