Methodology
Methodology, also known as methodology, is a specific program or method used to identify, select, process, and analyze information about a particular topic. Simply put, this section is intended for you to write:
What research method did you use?
Why use this research method?
※ And how did you ultimately achieve it?
Methodology 1-4 step structure
◆ Introduction:
★ Briefly introduce what you want to write in the Methodology chapter. The most important thing is to introduce your research topic.
Research aim:
As the name suggests, this section is to elaborate on your research objectives and provide examples of your research questions, usually consisting of three parts.
Research philosophy
It can be defined as the source, nature, and development of knowledge. It is important because it reveals the researcher’s assumptions about their research, thereby deriving methods that are more suitable for the research purpose, design, and data collection and analysis.
Three research philosophies
Interpretivism is generally used in qualitative research
Positivism is generally applicable to quantitative research
Research Methodology
◎ Structure: What parts does Methodology include?
Research approach: research methods
It includes two types: inductive approach and deductive approach.
Induction involves finding patterns from observations and developing explanations and theories for these patterns through a series of assumptions. It is more suitable for qualitative research.
The deductive method involves formulating hypotheses based on existing theories, and then designing a research strategy to test these hypotheses. The deductive method is also used for quantitative research.
If your research objective is exploratory, induction is more suitable for:; But if your research objective is to validate your research hypothesis, then deductive methods need to be used.
Research Strategy
Determine whether you are using qualitative research or quantitative research.
Qualitative research is the exploration of the properties of a specific phenomenon.
The main research methods include observation, interviews, and focus groups. It can also be used in combination.
◆ Quantitative analysis research is exploring the regularity of a certain phenomenon
It focuses on calculation, measurement, and describing research in numerical form.
The most commonly used research method in quantitative research is survey.
When you want to find representative viewpoints, use survey
※ When you want to focus on causal relationships, follow the episodic strategy
※ Use historical research to study what has happened in the past
※ When conducting in-depth investigative research, use case study
◆ Data Collection
This section requires answering two questions:
Where does the data come from?
Example: Where to conduct research and from whom to obtain data? Explain how to select research subjects
Eg, The case study information is summarized in text form (In summary. empirical data will be observed from academic.. Jind recently presented in diagram form)
How to collect data?
Example: What data collection method should be used, questionnaire or interview? If several methods of data collection need to be used, they can be explained one by one
Eg, The student immediacy identifies how data will be beltedQueltive data will be observed primarily through the vehicle of interviews
▲ Note: Many mistakes are due to spending too much time describing how the data was collected and not paying attention to explaining why this collection method was chosen! Explaining the reason is more important!
Data Analysis
★ This section also has two questions: describe the research process; Explain the process of proof analysis
◆ Describe the research process
※ egAn example of a basic description is then given: Of the 8 academic staff questioned on e-Learning brothers, said THS. and 1 said this
◆ Explanation and proof
※ The student explains the benefits of doing so and how it will aid in data analysis: The themes will help staff to focus on interview questions but it also affects data analysis. It will make It easier for responses within and between groups to take place
◆ lEthical Considerations:
Whether using primary or secondary data, the entire process of data collection and research involves ethical considerations. Therefore, in this section, students need to delve into whether their research is ethical and ethical. For example,
Respect intellectual property rights, protect the privacy, legality, objectivity, and honesty of interviewees.
In addition, students also need to explain how they obtained the interview permission for the interviewee, whether the interviewee signed an informed consent form, etc. (to be included in the attachment).
Limitations:
★ In depth discussion of some limitations in research, which is also the key to achieving high scores in the paper, can be based on the philosophical theories, research strategies, data collection methods, data analysis methods, and other aspects adopted.
Summary:
The Summary section, like the Introduction section at the beginning, does not require too many words and leads to subsequent research findings and results chapters, making it convenient for readers and mentors to read.
