Students, a little help with writing letters of recommendation for college applications!
Acceptance is not dependent on this, but no one has that much time to dedicate to reading your letter. So what kind of person should you ask to write it, and what should you remember?
First of all, how to write a letter of recommendation?
The admissions officer is looking at the truth, so do not say false words. Pick the kind of people who really know your ability and character, such as teachers, tutors, student council advisors and even your boss. They know you and can speak convincingly.
Remember not to screw yourself!
First of all, don’t say anything that doesn’t work. Don’t say the generic “excellent”, “potential” and other empty words.
Remember, admissions officers listen to these ears callus, you have to use real details to show their own characteristics, which is called personalised!
Secondly, don’t brag, be realistic!
If you are caught bragging, then you can’t really jump into the Yellow River. So we just express ourselves sincerely.
And then don’t be vague about the key points, so that people (admissions officers) can see the key points at a glance.
A letter of recommendation that is too general is boring to the admissions officer. We need to come up with something new to make it stand out to them.
Lastly, give some real examples. You can’t just say hello in general terms, you need to let the recommender actually show the interviewer what you have to offer.
Again, when you write a recommendation letter, focus on your strengths. I’m sure you’ll be able to do it!
